Sarah Cookinham, MD, is board-certified in infectious diseases and internal medicine. She has clinical interests in blood stream infections, endocarditis, fever of unknown etiology, osteomyelitis and hepatitis. Dr. Cookinham has significant experience in wound care and has interests in diabetic foot infection and other complicated wound infections.

Growing up in a war torn country was not easy especially in a closed up society that was very restrictive in every way imaginable. I found refuge in reading, music, swimming, and drawing. Ever since childhood, I have been drawn to the mystical, magical and the unknown. When I was around twelve, I would sneak into my fathers library of rare- worm chewed up books and read. Although I had a deep interest in nutrition and I really wanted to be an artist, my love for books and reading enabled me to later receive degrees in philosophy, archaeology, archives, and fine art.
