Benjamin J. Ansell, MD, received a dual undergraduate degree with distinction in Biology and as a College Scholar in Music from Cornell University, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine. He subsequently performed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Ansell currently serves as Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is also Director of the Comprehensive Health Program, Co-Director of Cholesterol, Hypertension, and Atherosclerosis Management Program (CHAMP) and the Medical Hospitality Program at UCLA. Michael Teitell received B.S. and M.S. degrees from the UCLA College Honors Program as a Departmental Scholar in Chemistry and Biochemistry in 1985. He earned combined M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in the UCLA Medical Scientist Training Program in 1993. His graduate and early post-doctoral studies were with Dr. Mitchell Kronenberg at UCLA in Molecular and Cellular Immunology. He was jointly appointed in the UCLA Department of Pediatrics in 2001 and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2004. Dr. Crawford joined the UCLA orthopaedic department in 2019 as a fellowship trained, board-certified orthopaedic oncologist. Wayne W. Grody, MD, PhD is a Professor in the Departments of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Pediatrics, and Human Genetics at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is the director of the Diagnostic Molecular Pathology Laboratory within the UCLA Medical Center, one of the first such facilities in the country to offer DNA-based tests for diagnosis of a wide variety of genetic, infectious, and neoplastic diseases, as well as bone marrow engraftment, patient specimen identification and paternity testing by DNA fingerprinting.
