Benjamin J. Ansell, MD, received a dual undergraduate degree with distinction in Biology and as a College Scholar in Music from Cornell University, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine. He subsequently performed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Ansell currently serves as Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is also Director of the Comprehensive Health Program, Co-Director of Cholesterol, Hypertension, and Atherosclerosis Management Program (CHAMP) and the Medical Hospitality Program at UCLA. Dr. Ansell is a member of the American Heart Association Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, and certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Clinical Lipidology. He has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the National Lipid Association. Michael Teitell received B.S. and M.S. degrees from the UCLA College Honors Program as a Departmental Scholar in Chemistry and Biochemistry in 1985. He earned combined M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in the UCLA Medical Scientist Training Program in 1993. His graduate and early post-doctoral studies were with Dr. Mitchell Kronenberg at UCLA in Molecular and Cellular Immunology. Dr. Teitell was a Resident and Clinical Instructor in Anatomic Pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School from 1993-1995. During this time he was a Research Associate with Dr. Richard Blumberg. From 1995-1997, Dr. Teitell was a Resident in Clinical Pathology at UCSF and a post-doctoral researcher with Dr. Joe Gray. From 1997-1999, he held a joint appointment at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles as a Pediatric Pathology Fellow and at UCLA as a Clinical Instructor in Pathology. He became an Assistant Professor in the UCLA Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in 1999. He was jointly appointed in the UCLA Department of Pediatrics in 2001 and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2004. He currently serves as Chief of the Division of Pediatric and Developmental Pathology, with board certification in anatomic, clinical and pediatric pathology. Dr. Albert Shieh is an endocrinologist whose clinical practice focuses on osteoporosis and calcium disorders. He currently sees patients in Westwood, Torrance and Santa Monica, and is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and in internal medicine. Dr. Shieh received his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he completed his endocrinology fellowship at UCLA. He grew up in the greater Boston area and earned his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he majored in biology. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Shieh is actively involved in osteoporosis research, and has published in top journals in his field, including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, and Osteoporosis International. His research was recognized by the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research through a Young Investigator Award. He has also served as guest editor of the Bone Disorders issue of Endocrinology & Metabolism Clinics of North America, and is currently a reviewer for Osteoporosis International When he's not working, Dr. Shieh enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, going to the driving range and batting cage, and traveling.

Dr. Benjamin Schneider is a member of the UCLA Child and Adolescent Psychiatry faculty as an Assistant Professor. After completing his undergraduate at Stanford University where he studied Biological Sciences and Philosophy, he went on to medical school at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore where his interest in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry blossomed. Brian G. DeRubertis, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at UCLA and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After obtaining his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. DeRubertis earned his medical degree, residency, and fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medical College and Columbia University training programs in New York.His clinical interests include open and endovascular management of complex aortic aneurysms, lower extremity arterial occlusive disease, carotid artery disease, and deep venous disease. Dr. DeRubertis has participated in more than 20 clinical research studies, including roles as National PI in the REALITY Trial and the LIFE-BTK Trial. He has published more than 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and more than 25 book chapters and other publications. He has presented his own research and given invited presentations at regional, national, and international academic conferences, including the SVS, NEVS, WVS, VERVE, VEITH, TCT, LINC, and VIVA, delivering over 300 presentations at these conferences. Dr. Crawford joined the UCLA orthopaedic department in 2019 as a fellowship trained, board-certified orthopaedic oncologist. She specializes in primary bone and soft tissue sarcomas, metastatic tumors of the musculoskeletal system, benign bone and soft tissue tumors.Prior to her UCLA appointment, Dr. Crawford worked at City of Hope Cancer Center for 3 years after graduating from her orthopaedic oncology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess and Boston Children's Hospital through Harvard Medical School. Her fellowship is one of the few in the country with a 6-month emphasis on pediatrics sarcomas. Dr. Crawford attending Santa Clara University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude before attending Oregon Health & Science University for medical school. She completed her internship at OHSU before moving to Saint Louis University Hospital for residency and a one-year orthopaedic trauma fellowship. While there she completed a traveling fellowship through Orthopaedics Overseas, operating for 6 weeks at several hospitals throughout Malawi, Africa. Throughout her career, she has continued to publish several peer-reviewed journal articles regarding orthopaedics. Currently, her research is focused on oxygenating osteosarcoma cells to sensitize them to radiation, and working with engineers at Caltech to develop photoacoustic imaging as a clinical modality for bone lesions. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, on the board of directors for the Musculoskeletal Oncology Research Initiative, a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, and sits on several committees at UCLA. Dr. Crawford is an avid animal lover and currently houses 3 rescue animals, 2 dogs and a cat. She grew up in a small town where farming is the primary industry and loves to travel home to refresh. She previously played racquetball at a National and World level, winning several championships. Wayne W. Grody, MD, PhD is a Professor in the Departments of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Pediatrics, and Human Genetics at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is the director of the Diagnostic Molecular Pathology Laboratory within the UCLA Medical Center, one of the first such facilities in the country to offer DNA-based tests for diagnosis of a wide variety of genetic, infectious, and neoplastic diseases, as well as bone marrow engraftment, patient specimen identification and paternity testing by DNA fingerprinting. He is also an attending physician in the Department of Pediatrics, specializing in the care of patients with or at risk for genetic disorders. He has been one of the primary developers of quality assurance and ethical guidelines for DNA-based genetic testing for a number of governmental and professional agencies including the FDA, AMA, CAP, ACMG, ASHG, NCCLS, CDC, NIH-DOE Human Genome Project (ELSI program), and PSRGN. He served as a member of the NIH-DOE Task Force on Genetic Testing, and was the working group chair for development of national guidelines for cystic fibrosis and factor V-Leiden mutation screening. Most recently, he was appointed chair of an Advisory Committee on Genomic Medicine for the entire VA healthcare system. He did his undergraduate work at Johns Hopkins University, received his MD and PhD at Baylor College of Medicine, and completed residency and fellowship training at UCLA. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Pathology (Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Molecular Genetic Pathology) and the American Board of Medical Genetics (Clinical Genetics, Molecular Genetics, and Biochemical Genetics).

Wang is a Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine and a Gastrointestinal/Liver Pathology faculty. He received his medical degree from the Wuhan University School of Medicine in China and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He completed his pathology residency and Gastrointestinal/Liver Pathology fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Wang is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He has authored more than 130 journal articles, numerous book chapters and invited reviews, and 1 pathology textbook (co-editor). He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international meetings and serves on the editorial boards for several pathology/medical journals. Dr. Wang was Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and an Associate Professor at Washington University Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis before joining UCLA. His clinical and research interests include medical and neoplastic gastrointestinal and liver diseases.
